About:

Since 1972, I have bought and sold countless guitars… must be well into 700-800 instruments to date. However, most of this buying/selling is behind me now. I have a handful of keepers that work just fine. Sure, the best ones are gone, but these current axes will definitely do for the remainder of my stay.

Guitar I would love to own:

Vega Cylinder Guitar

Favorite guitar in my collection:

My beat up 73 Les Paul Custom or my 2012 Hexomorph Volcano Telecaster

The guitar I would love to add to my collection:

Guild D-55, any Goodall, Maton or First Act

My favorite guitar manufacturer:

Estaban (ha, just kidding), Daisy Rock!

My favorite Luthier or tech:

Uh, me

My favorite amplifier:

Magnatone 480

My favorite guitar show:

is the one where I score a killer axe for low dough

Last guitar show attended:

Last month

Favorite place to shop for guitars:

everywhere

  • 12/1/2017- SOME HOW, GC IS STILL HANGIN’ ON. I heard Ares Management bought the GC/Bain mess in 2014. I’ll bet Bain Crapitol cooked the books pretty sharply to sell that catastrophe. I’ll still feel bad if GC […]

  • Here it is January 13, 2016 and they are STILL IN BUSINESS! I just bought a new guitar from GC in RI. They still owe more money than ever and they are still screwing all their vendors up the wazoo. I thought I’d […]

Do to time constraints, we didn’t go to either of the Gibson plants. Just as well tho, since Gibson sold more consumer electronics last year than guitars, I figure their getting out of the guitar business alltogether and are going to be pushing the Phillips and Pioneer Home Entertainment brands they have recently acquired. God help us all!

Heading to Nashville in July with the wife. Going to see if I can talk some sense into Henry K. over at Gibson about WTF he’s doing to LPs. Maybe I can get his attention by saying “up against the wall and spread em!”, but he may be used to that by now.

I’m also going to Gruhn to spend the day and some cash.

    After Nashville, we’re…[Read more]

  • Hi, you’re real lucky to have a D-2R. Not many people know about them. They are an awesome dreadnaught with many technical advances over a D-28 that you cannot readily see.

The going rate is about $700.-$800 […]
