Police have released an image of a distinctive Fender guitar which was stolen in a burglary in Wolverhampton.

The acoustic guitar, a black Fender FR50, is distinctive because it has a unique silver ‘truss rod cover’ fitted at the head of the instrument.

It was stolen from a building in the back garden of a property in Blackhalve Lane, Wednesfield, last weekend.

The thieves also took a white VW Scirocco car, registration BK59 XWA, from the driveway of the house.

DC Emily Sparkes, of West Midlands Police CID, said: “The thieves broke into the house and stole the keys to the car while the occupants were asleep. Police are currently investigating the break-in and theft and appealing for any witnesses to the crime.

Guitar is permanently posted in the Stolen Guitar Profile on AxVault

“The guitar stolen is very distinctive and we are hoping someone may recognise the instrument and come forward with information.”

Anyone with information should call DC Sparkes on the non-emergency 101 number or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
